Biography
Amanda (Mandy) Dirickson, MS, APRN, ANP-C, SCRN, is a board certified Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in the Department of Neurology and Neurotherapeutic’s Stroke Section at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
A native of Texas, Ms. Dirickson earned both her bachelor's and Master of Science degrees in nursing at Texas Woman’s University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in nursing from the University of Texas, Tyler.
In 2008, she joined UT Southwestern Medical Center and began working with leadership on building and developing UT Southwestern’s Comprehensive Stroke Center. Along with her clinical duties and the treatment of stroke patients, she performs professional stroke education for the center, and continues to pursue stroke research.
Ms. Dirickson is an active member of several professional associations and has presented nationally on stroke topics at the American Heart Association’s International Stroke Pre-Conference Nursing Symposium, the American Association of Nurse Practitioner Annual Conference, and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses Annual Meeting.
