Amanda Ray, M.D., earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating as a Physician Healer Scholar. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Yale, where she co-chaired the program’s Wellness Committee and nurtured a passion for both palliative and hospital Medicine. While there, she was active in medical education, instituting a wellness curriculum and an elective in Spiritual Care for the program’s residents. She also organized the working group to address impacts of 28-hour shifts on resident wellness and patient safety.

Dr. Ray brings to UT Southwestern rigorous clinical training combined with a holistic approach to medicine. She is interested in medical education and exploring how storytelling impacts patient-provider relationships, coping, and healing.
