Biography

Athar Haq, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine. He provides clinical service at Parkland Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Haq earned his medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Haq is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Osteopathic Association, and he serves on the Advanced Practice Professional Committee for the Parkland Health & Hospital System.

Personal Note

Dr. Haq is the president and founder of A Continuous Charity, a Muslim nonprofit organization that provides no-interest loans for higher education. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his three children.
