Biography

Carol Bjorkman, M.S., APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) in the Department of Cardiology, Heart and Lung Clinic at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the care of patients both pre- and post-heart transplant. She is a certified heart failure nurse (CHFN).

Ms. Bjorkman holds her undergraduate degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned her Master of Science in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Texas Woman's University in 2006. She has worked in cardiology for the last 11 years, including general cardiology, electrophysiology, and more recently heart transplant.

She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Heart Failure Nurses, the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, and North Texas Nurse Practitioners, for which she has served on the executive council of the board.
