Biography

Humair Rana, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. 

Dr. Rana earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed a residency in anesthesiology and a fellowship in pain management at UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in pain management, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011. 

Dr. Rana serves on the American Board of Anesthesiology’s pain medicine examination committee and Parkland Memorial Hospital’s pain committee. In addition, he is the Director of pain medicine medical student electives at UT Southwestern Medical School.

A member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Dr. Rana has delivered several invited lectures and published a number of academic articles.
