Biography

Joad Eseddi, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Division of Rheumatic Diseases. His clinical interests include myositis, inflammatory arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

Originally from Iraq, Dr. Eseddi earned his medical degree at the University of Baghdad College of Medicine. He then completed  internal medicine residency training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, before joining the faculty at UT Southwestern as a member of its Division of Hospital Medicine.

After five years of service at Parkland Health and Hospital System, he obtained advanced training through a fellowship in rheumatology at UT Southwestern and rejoined the faculty in 2023.

Dr. Eseddi is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology and serves as a member of its Global Engagement Committee.

In addition to working with patients from different cultures, Dr. Eseddi is passionate about assisting patients with complex medical problems.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Eseddi enjoys travel and sports.
