Lanese Ogunkua, MSN, APRN, ANP-C, is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner (ANP) in the Division of Endocrinology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Ms. Ogunkua holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and began her career as a nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. While working as a registered nurse, she developed a strong interest in health promotion and wellness, which prompted her to earn a Master of Science in Nursing at Temple University.

After receiving her certification as an adult nurse practitioner, Ms. Ogunkua joined the Division of Endocrinology where she initially worked with complex patients with diabetes. She then transitioned into her current role in the Weight Wellness Clinic. She focuses on medical therapies for weight management and caring for patients who have undergone bariatric surgery. Ms. Ogunkua seeks to empower patients to have an active role in their weight management by developing patient relationships that are collaborative and mutually respectful.
