Biography
Maira Acheampong, D.N.P., APRN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Mrs. Acheampong completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida, in 2009. After working as a nurse in medical oncology, surgical oncology, and outpatient infusion, she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Family Nurse Practitioner degrees from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma in 2024.
She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Oncology Nursing Society, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is currently one of the resident fellows in the Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship for 2024–25.
