Maureen Finnegan, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Finnegan earned her medical degree at the University of British Columbia. She completed a residency in surgery at The Ottawa Hospital and at Boston Children's Hospital, a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Ottawa Civic Hospital, and a fellowship in orthopaedics at The Ottawa Hospital. She completed a separate research fellowship in orthopaedics at the University of Ottawa and the Swiss Research Institute. 

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1989. 

Dr. Finnegan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a Past President of both the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons and the Texas Orthopaedic Association. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Texas Orthopaedic Association, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. In addition, she is Chair of the membership committee for the Texas Orthopaedic Association and is on the board of directors for the Center for Orthopaedic Trauma Advancement, where she serves as treasurer. She has been an examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery for several decades and has been appointed to several FDA panels as a voting member. 

Dr. Finnegan has delivered scores of presentations, served as guest editor of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and published countless academic articles.
