Biography

Shamekia Wells, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Internal Medicine - Palliative Care at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Wells completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in Arlington and then earned her Master of Science Nursing, from Walden University with a concentration in Adult-gerontology acute care. She is board certified as a Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Association. She is also a member of the Texas Nurse Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association and Sigma Alpha Pi. She was awarded Nursing of the Year in 2012 from Baylor Scott and White Hospital, where she practiced as a Palliative Care registered nurse for 6 years.
