Biography
Taylor Poyner, D.N.P., APRN, ACNPC-AG, is a dedicated and certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Vascular Surgery. With a fervent commitment to enhancing patient outcomes, Miss Poyner's journey in healthcare began with the completion of her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Lamar University in 2015. Driven by a passion for advanced practice and a desire to further contribute to the field, Miss Poyner pursued a Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Maryville University, culminating in her graduation in 2023. During her doctoral studies, she underwent rigorous clinical rotations under the mentorship of esteemed preceptors in Primary Care as well as the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Neurosurgery Department, and Vascular Surgery Department at UT Southwestern. These rotations provided her with a comprehensive understanding of diverse healthcare settings and enriched her clinical acumen. Miss Poyner's professional journey has been characterized by a series of enriching experiences, each contributing to her growth and expertise in the field. Joining UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2020 as a Vascular Surgery Ambulatory Registered Nurse, she demonstrated her commitment to providing high-quality patient care by delivering nursing interventions consistent with the medical plan of care. Her role extended beyond routine patient care, encompassing tasks such as surgery planning, patient education, and assisting in various in-clinic procedures. In recognition of her exceptional skills and dedication, Miss Poyner was appointed as the Vascular Surgery Nursing Supervisor at UT Southwestern Medical Center's Clinical Heart & Vascular Center in June 2021. In this capacity, she assumed leadership responsibilities, overseeing and imparting specialized knowledge and skills essential for the outpatient vascular surgery department. Her role involved not only clinical supervision but also operational management, financial oversight, and staff development. Throughout her tenure, Miss Poyner has been instrumental in enhancing patient care standards, facilitating teamwork, and driving departmental performance improvement initiatives. Complementing her professional endeavors, Miss Poyner is an active member of prestigious organizations such as the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and The Society for Vascular Nursing. Her involvement underscores her commitment to staying abreast of the latest advancements in healthcare and fostering collaboration within the nursing community. In her current role as a certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Vascular Surgery, Miss Poyner remains steadfast in her commitment to advancing patient care and contributing to the field of healthcare through her expertise, leadership, and unwavering passion for excellence.
