Biography

Tyonn Barbera, MBA, MS, APRN, ANP-C, is an advanced practice nurse practitioner, working in pulmonary medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Ms. Barbera completed her undergraduate degrees in nutrition and nursing at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She worked as a registered nurse in the intensive care unit setting for approximately five years. She then earned her master's degree in nursing as an adult nurse practitioner in 2012 at the University of Colorado Anschutz. She has worked in pulmonary medicine for nine years with a special interest in interstitial lung disease (ILD) and serves as Lead APP for the pulmonary clinics. In May 2020, she completed her master's degree in business administration with a focus in health care and organizational leadership.

She serves as the clinical coordinator for the UTSW Care Center Network for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation and plays an active role in research to advance the treatment of ILDs at UT Southwestern. She is active within the Office of Advanced Practice Providers and currently chairs the APP Engagement Committee.
