At the UT Southwestern Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at Moncrief Cancer Institute, our psych-oncology team has helped many patients and families deal with the emotional side of cancer.

We offer therapy sessions with compassionate clinical psychologists and doctoral psychology trainees so our patients can talk through difficult issues in a supportive setting. We also extend that high-quality, personal care to cancer survivors, family members, and caregivers.

Psychology providers have specialized knowledge that can help patients:

  • Cope with a cancer diagnosis and fear of recurrence
  • Learn how to handle stress
  • Deal with depression
  • Understand sexual issues and body image
  • Work through grief and loss
  • Learn healthy lifestyle habits

Both face-to-face therapy sessions and teletherapy sessions are available. We accept most insurance plans. For those who are uninsured or face high copays, financial assistance is available.
