Conditions We Treat

Our surgeons have expertise in all vascular disorders, from the routine to the complex. Our program includes the following areas of specialization, services, and treatments:

Outpatient Noninvasive Vascular Ultrasound Laboratory

UT Southwestern’s accredited vascular laboratory offers state-of-the-art noninvasive ultrasound to detect and evaluate vascular disease. All of our technologists are registered, and each study is reviewed and interpreted by UT Southwestern vascular surgeons.

We were among the first vascular laboratories in North America to be granted accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in 1993, and we specialize in performing complex ultrasounds evaluating the arteries and veins.

Common studies performed in our noninvasive vascular laboratory include:

  • Abdominal aorta ultrasound
  • Ankle brachial indices (ABIs)
  • Arterial ultrasound of both the upper and lower extremities
  • Bypass and stent surveillance
  • Carotid artery ultrasound
  • Dialysis access ultrasound
  • Mesenteric ultrasound
  • Renal artery ultrasound
  • Venous ultrasound of both the upper and lower extremities
  • Venous insufficiency testing
