Biography

Adnan Rafique, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in surgical and regional anesthesiology. 

Dr. Rafique earned his medical degree at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed a residency in anesthesia at the University of Kentucky and received advanced training in cardiothoracic anesthesiology through a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Rafique joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2009. 

His clinical interests include complex anesthesia cases, obstetric anesthesia, liver transplant anesthesia, and regional anesthesia for acute pain management.

Dr. Rafique is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists.
