Biography

Alex Koyfman, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in acute illness diagnosis, resuscitation, and other emergency medical services. 

Dr. Koyfman earned his medical degree at the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo – State University of New York. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. 

Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Koyfman joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Koyfman has written numerous articles, books, and book chapters on emergency medicine, medical education, and medical humanities.

He is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors, the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association, and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
