Biography

Amy Wentworth-Kotara, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) in the Department of Internal Medicine's Endocrinology Division at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Wentworth-Kotara was raised in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas A&M University in 2004 and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UT Southwestern Medical Center in 2006. Since 2007, she has specialized in the field of endocrinology which includes diabetes, thyroid, parathyroid, pituitary, adrenal and gonadal disorders. She practiced at UT Southwestern from 2007 to 2014 followed by working in private practice in San Antonio from 2014 to 2019. She returned to Internal Medicine's Endocrinology Division at UT Southwestern in 2019. Her goal is to partner with her patients to provide them with quality education and therapeutic options to better manage their endocrine condition and prevent complications. Ms. Wentworth-Kotara has a strong background diabetes tools and technology and has earned the distinction of being a Certified Diabetes Educator. She is involved in a variety of professional organizations and continuing medical education in endocrinology.
