Biography
Andrew Yu, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in the care of hospitalized children.
Dr. Yu earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. He completed a residency in pediatrics at UT Southwestern and Children’s Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017.
Dr. Yu is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of its Section on Hospital Medicine. He is also a member of the Texas Pediatric Society, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Pediatric Society of Greater Dallas.
He currently serves as Associate Program Director for the UT Southwestern Pediatric Residency Program. His areas of focus include bedside teaching, clinical reasoning, and skills development.
Dr. Yu has delivered national and regional invited lectures, contributed to the book Comprehensive Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and published academic articles related to his areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Yu enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two boys.
