Anthony Froix, M.D.

Biography

Anthony J. Froix, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in surgical oncology.

Dr. Froix earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a residency in general surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He received advanced training through a fellowship in surgical oncology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a clinical research fellowship in general surgery at Mt. Sinai Surgical Services at Queens Hospital Center. He also holds master’s degrees in business administration and medical management from the University of Rochester.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Froix’s clinical interests include breast cancer, breast disease, and breast screening and surgery.

His extensive research efforts have focused on therapies to treat melanoma, the distribution of lung cell receptors, development of a DNA fingerprinting method that does not involve radioactive materials, and how to reduce costs in the operating room.

He is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Association for Physician Leadership, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
