Biography

Aqeel Kamal, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in acute pain, regional anesthesia, and resident education, including difficult airways and preparing for oral boards.

Dr. Kamal earned his medical degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Kamal is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Kamal enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and exploring new countries and cultures.
