Biography

Christina ('Christy') Chemmachel, MS, APRN, ACNPC-AG, CCRN, is a board certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC-AG) in the Department of Internal Medicine - Nephrology at UT Southwestern. She is credentialed through American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Ms. Chemmachel completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University in Dallas and then earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University in Houston in May 2017. She began her nursing career in Dallas, TX at Baylor University Medical Center and then traveled the country as a CVICU travel nurse. Her endeavors lead her to Houston, TX where she took a staff position in the coronary care unit (CCU) at Baylor CHI St. Luke's in the Texas Medical Center as she completed her graduate coursework. She had the opportunity to complete her preceptorship with the Nephrology team here at UT Southwestern during her last semester. Ms. Chemmachel was recently published in Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal. She is a member of American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) and the National Kidney Foundation.
