Biography

Dr. David Podeszwa provides orthopaedic trauma and general pediatric orthopaedic coverage at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, along with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children orthopaedic medical staff. A native of Detroit, Michigan, he attended the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit. Dr. Podeszwa completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed an AO/ASIF International Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Bern, Inselspital. Dr. Podeszwa completed his pediatric orthopaedic fellowship at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in 2001 under the direction of Dr. Tony Herring. He is an assistant professor in the department of orthopaedics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Before coming to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, Dr. Podeszwa was an active staff member in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is a member of the AO/ASIF Alumni Association and a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
