Biography

Dr. Zhao is originally from Plano, Texas and received her Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Public Policy at Duke University. She returned to Texas to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Zhao completed her residency training and a Chief Resident year at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY where she cared for an underserved population and learned how to think about patient care through a more structurally competent framework. Professionally, she is interested in medical education as well as diversity and inclusion. Outside of work, she enjoys all things involving food, including cooking, eating, and watching related TV shows.
