Biography

Deryk L. Walsh, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric anesthesiology and pain management.

Dr. Walsh earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received advanced training in pediatric anesthesiology and pain management through fellowships at UT Southwestern.

Board certified in general anesthesiology, pediatric anesthesiology, hospice and palliative medicine, and pain management, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008.

Dr. Walsh serves as Medical Director of the Plano AFC Family Pain and Wellness Associates Clinic, where he treats all ages for various pain issues. He is a member of several professional associations, including the American Headache Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia.

His research interests include abortive and preventive therapies for pediatric migraine treatment and novel approaches to pediatric pain. His clinical interests include pediatric anesthesiology for general surgery, regional anesthesia, multidisciplinary pain treatments for all ages, and palliative care.
