Biography
Girish Kumar, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Vascular & Interventional Radiology Division.
Originally from India, Dr. Kumar earned his medical degree at M.S. Ramaiah Medical College in Bangalore. He performed his residencies in internal medicine and radiology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then obtained advanced training through a fellowship program in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
His research interests, which include pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, cardiopulmonary disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma, have led him to co-author original research and present his findings at major scientific conferences.
Dr. Kumar is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Medical Association, the Society of Interventional Radiologists, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Kumar enjoys playing cricket and soccer, and spending time with his family.
