Biography

Gloria Cheng, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She also serves as the Director of the Regional Anesthesia Division at the UTSW University Hospitals. 

Dr. Cheng earned her medical degree, with honors, at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a residency in anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego, where she then received advanced fellowship training in regional anesthesiology. 

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2010. 

Dr. Cheng serves on the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia’s regional anesthesia committee and on the Chairman’s Advisory Board for UT Southwestern’s Department of Anesthesiology.  She is a leader in operational management within the department.  

She is also member the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, among other professional organizations, and she has presented and published broadly on topics in her field.
