Biography

Guy Efune, M.D., is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in providing anesthesia for abdominal transplant and high-risk obstetric patients. 

Dr. Efune earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School, where he also completed his residency in anesthesiology. Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

Dr. Efune’s research interests include anesthesiology and pain management for transplant patients. He serves as Co-Director of anesthesia resident education at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Dallas County Anesthesia Society, the International Liver Transplantation Society, the Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists.
