Biography

Huong Nguyen, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in neuroanesthesiology.

Dr. Nguyen earned her medical degree at Texas A&M College of Medicine and completed a residency in anesthesiology and pain management at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011.

Dr. Nguyen is the Chief of Clinical Operations at Zale Lipshy Pavilion – William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. She serves on numerous committees at UT Southwestern, including the Resident Recruitment Committee, the Pediatric Stroke Focused Project Initiative, and the Pulmonary Embolus Response Team Committee.

A member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, she also serves on the Multi-Center Handoff Collaborative’s Education Subgroup.

Dr. Nguyen has contributed to the book Essentials of Neurosurgical Anesthesia and Critical Care and has published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
