Biography

Jessica Herbst has been a clinical social worker with the Department of Psychiatry at the UT Southwestern Medical Center since 2017. She attended Southwestern University, where she received a B.A. in Sociology. Jessica then received a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. She completed her training and hours working to attain her LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) with a non-profit counseling center that specialized in working with victims of violence. She then worked as the Clinical Director with this organization prior to joining UTSW. Jessica has over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field, with both inpatient and outpatient populations. She continues to work with survivors of trauma and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She is also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and works from a person-centered approach to help individuals work toward their mental health goals. In addition to trauma, Jessica also specializes in treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, and life stage transition challenges.
