Biography

Jigesh A. Shah, D.O., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in abdominal transplant surgery.

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in surgery at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston and then received advanced training in transplant surgery and abdominal transplant surgery through separate fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and Duke University, respectively.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Shah’s research and clinical interests include liver and kidney transplantation and xenotransplantation. He is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, the American Society of Transplantation, the International Liver Transplantation Society, the International Xenotransplantation Association, and The Transplantation Society.
