Biography
Joseph Rossi Berger, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Division of Nephrology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in geriatric nephrology and dialysis management in underserved populations.
Dr. Berger earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine and advanced training fellowships in geriatric medicine and nephrology. He also holds bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Board certified in geriatric medicine, internal medicine, and nephrology, Dr. Berger first joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008 as a hospitalist. He joined the Division of Nephrology in 2012.
He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Geriatrics Society, and the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Berger lectures widely and has published peer-review articles related to his areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When he’s not working, Dr. Berger enjoys playing classical piano, watching sports, and spending time with his family, which includes a lovable cocker spaniel that he tries in vain to keep up with.
