Biography

Kailee Hughes, M.S.N., APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AGACNP) at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She works with the Division of Thoracic Surgery.  

Originally from Carrollton, Texas, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and returned to the DFW metroplex to work as a registered nurse at Parkland Hospital in the medical intensive care unit (MICU). She worked in the Parkland MICU as a charge nurse and preceptor for approximately 5 years.

After earning her Master of Science in Nursing in 2015, Ms. Hughes started her career as a nurse practitioner with a pulmonary critical care group in Fort Worth as an intensivist. She then made the move to UT Southwestern, where she could continue to challenge herself in her practice as well as play a more active role in the education of future health care providers.
