Biography
Kamalanathan Sambandam, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine’s Division of Nephrology and the Director of the Nephrology Fellowship Program at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He also serves as the Medical Director of Renal Clinics at Parkland Hospital.
Dr. Sambandam earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed a residency in internal medicine and advanced fellowship training in nephrology at Washington University School of Medicine/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
His clinical interests lie in the areas of diuretic resistance and nondiabetic glomerular disease.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008. He is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the Texas Medical Association.
