Biography
Kristina L. Goff, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in critical care medicine and serves as Co-Medical Director of the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
Dr. Goff earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School, where she also completed her residency in anesthesiology. She received advanced training in critical care medicine through a fellowship at the University of Washington.
Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Dr. Goff joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015. She has specialty training in the use of basic perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, as well as in the management of extracorporeal life support for critically ill patients.
Dr. Goff lectures and publishes about the care of postoperative patients in the surgical and cardiovascular intensive care units. She has a particular interest in incorporating simulation-based training into medical education. She works with trainees and clinical staff, both in the UTSW Simulation Center and alongside the High Reliability Team and the Office of Quality Improvement and Safety, using simulation to perfect procedural skills and to cultivate better communication and team dynamics.
She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Dallas County Medical Society, the Harvard Macy Institute, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists. She is actively involved in a number of regional and national committees through these organizations.
