Biography

Kyle Molberg, M.D., is the Philip O’Bryan Montgomery Jr., M.D., Professor of Surgical Pathology in the Department of Pathology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He has served as Chief of Pathology Services at Parkland Health since 2007 and was President of the Parkland Medical Staff and Chair of the Parkland Medical Executive Committee in 2018 and 2019.

Dr. Molberg earned his medical degree at the UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School. He completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Parkland and UT Southwestern, where he also received advanced training in surgical pathology through a fellowship.

Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1991.

His clinical interests include lab management, leadership, and mentoring of junior faculty. Dr. Molberg has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals related to his areas of interest.

Since 2014, Dr. Molberg has been the Course Director and Lecturer for the Introduction to Pathology course for Physician Assistant, Prosthetics and Orthotics, and Physical Therapy students at the UT Southwestern School of Allied Health. He received the UT Southwestern Outstanding Teacher Award for the Medical Student Classes of 2017 and 2018 and the Excellence in Education Outstanding Teacher Award for the Sophomore Pathology Course in 2008 and 2013.

Personal Note

When he’s not working, Dr. Molberg enjoys spending time with his family and dogs, watching college football, particularly his alma mater, SMU, and home landscaping.
