Biography
Matthew Harrison, D.O., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in emergency medicine and public health.
Dr. Harrison earned his medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He also holds a master’s degree in public health from the Dartmouth College Geisel School of Medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.
Dr. Harrison is the former Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Methodist Southlake Medical Center.
A member of the American Osteopathic Association and the Texas Medical Association, he has published several peer-reviewed articles in journals related to his areas of interest.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Harrison enjoys spending time with his family; homeschooling his children with his wife; sampling good food, craft coffee, and beer; traveling; reading and listening to audiobooks; practicing taekwondo; and just plain relaxing.
