Biography

Melanie Thomas, M.S.N., APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is credentialed through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. 

Originally from Dallas, she holds her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Master of Science in nursing at Texas Woman’s University. Ms. Thomas began her career as a registered nurse at UT Southwestern Medical Center, working in the cardiovascular intensive care and step down units. She developed a passion for caring for patients in end stage heart failure, which she now applies in her role as a nurse practitioner and LVAD coordinator for the heart failure service.

Ms. Thomas is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.
