Biography

Miakka Jalloh, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in obstetric anesthesiology, focusing on quality performance improvement and peripartum morbidity and mortality in African American women.

Dr. Jalloh earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at UT Southwestern, where she also received advanced training through a fellowship in obstetric anesthesiology.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Jalloh is the Quality Improvement Director of Obstetric Anesthesiology at UT Southwestern. She is a member of several UT Southwestern committees, including the Faculty Collaborative on Racial Equality and Diversity, the Obstetrics Anesthesia Complex Case Group, and the Anesthesiology Performance Improvement Committee.

She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and several other professional organizations.

Dr. Jalloh has delivered numerous lectures and presentations and published several academic articles.
