Biography

Michael Kimbrell, M.D., is an Assistant Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Dr. Kimbrell earned his medical degree at the Emory University School of Medicine. He is completing a residency in internal medicine at UT Southwestern; he currently serves as Chief Resident.

He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Kimbrell’s clinical interests include graduate medical education, point-of-care ultrasound, and cardiovascular physiology. He’s a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

He has delivered several presentations related to his areas of expertise, and he has won awards for his presentations from Emory and the Georgia Chapter of the American College of Physicians.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Kimbrell enjoys snowboarding, backpacking, and playing basketball.
