Biography

Proshad Efune, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric critical care medicine. 

Dr. Efune earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School. She completed a residency in pediatric anesthesiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at UT Southwestern, where she also received advanced training through fellowships in critical care pediatrics and pediatric anesthesia. 

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiologists and the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Efune joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.

Dr. Efune conducts and publishes research in pediatric anesthesia. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists.
