Biography

Richard Ahn, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and a member of its Breast Imaging and Community Radiology Divisions.

Dr. Ahn holds a bachelor's degree in chemical biology from the University of California-Berkeley, and a doctorate in chemistry from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, and remained there to complete an internship in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Ahn obtained radiology residency training at UT Southwestern, and then remained to receive advanced training through fellowship programs in interventional radiology and breast imaging.

He is certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Ahn's research interests have resulted in more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. He has also contributed to one book chapter, and presented his findings at conferences throughout the U.S. and around the world.

He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, Society of Breast Imaging, Texas Medical Society, and the Dallas County Medical Society.
