Biography

Rita Whitney, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a board certified Nurse Practitioner in the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Whitney completed her initial Diploma in Nursing at the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing, Halifax, Canada, then her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Chamberlain College of Nursing. She then completed her Masters of Science in Nursing, Family Practice Nurse Practitioner at Texas Woman's University and then a Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Chamberlain University College of Nursing in 2018. She has vast experience in nursing and has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2013. Her background includes family practice, Wound/Ostomy and leading patient support groups. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Texas Nurse Practitioners and North Texas Nurse Practitioners.
