Biography

Ross Querry, Ph.D., is Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health Professions at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He holds the Doris E. Porter Professorship in Physical Therapy. He specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation and cardiopulmonary physiology in rehabilitation.

Dr. Querry earned his doctoral degree in biomedical science with a focus on integrated physiology at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in physical therapy at Texas Woman’s University. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2001.

He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and belongs to three of its specialty sections: Cardiovascular and Pulmonary, Orthopaedics, and Education. He is also a member of the Texas Physical Therapy Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Heart Association.

Dr. Querry’s research interests include lifestyle wellness and fitness components that contribute to physical disability or disease, as well as neural control of cardiovascular regulation. He has been primary investigator or co-investigator on numerous studies at UT Southwestern and has published several academic articles related to his areas of expertise.

Personal Note

When he’s not at work, Dr. Querry enjoys travel, backpacking, and woodworking.
