Biography

Shannon Murray, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in general pulmonary medicine, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lung cancer screening.

After earning her medical degree at UT Health San Antonio, Dr. Murray completed a residency in internal medicine at Emory University Hospital. She gained advanced training through a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Murray joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023.

Dr. Murray is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Personal Note

When she’s not working, Dr. Murray enjoys traveling, doing yoga, and biking.
