Biography

Shannon Rickner, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in toxicology and drugs of abuse.

Dr. Rickner earned her medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center and received advanced training in medical toxicology through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. 

Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2014.

In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Rickner serves on the Emergency Department’s Research Committee and Promotions and Tenure Committee. She has delivered numerous presentations, completed multiple research projects, and published several academic articles.
