Biography
Sheryl Gyr, MPAS, PA-C earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Kansas in 1997. Her studies included a year abroad in Italy and France during her junior year, fostering a deep appreciation for art, culture, and international experiences. Following graduation, she lived in Florence, Italy, where she continued her studies in the Italian language. During her time at KU, Sheryl was a four-year member of Phi Beta Delta, an honor society recognizing academic achievement and international education. Sheryl earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in December 2004 and has been practicing dermatology as a board-certified Physician Assistant/Associate (PA-C) since February 2005. Throughout her career, she has focused on general dermatology, providing compassionate, patient-centered care and helping patients manage a wide range of skin conditions. In addition to being a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, Sheryl has achieved Diplomate status through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, a distinction that reflects advanced dermatology knowledge and a commitment to excellence in patient care. When she is not caring for patients, Sheryl enjoys spending time with her husband and their 4 dogs. A lifelong art enthusiast, she especially enjoys watercolor painting and continues to nurture the creative interests that first inspired her studies in art history. Her unique blend of artistic appreciation, international experience, specialized medical training, and more than two decades of dermatology experience allows her to bring both expertise and a thoughtful perspective to patient care.
