Biography

Shweta Srivastava, M.D., M.B.B.S., is an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of its Breast Imaging Division. Her clinical interests include image guided breast biopsy and newer modalities of breast cancer treatment such as cryoablation.

Originally from India, Dr. Srivastava received her medical degree from King George’s Medical University in India followed by a Master of Surgery in Oby and Gyn from SMS medical college, India. She then received radiology residency training at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, and advanced training through a Breast Imaging fellowship program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dr. Srivastava focuses her research on the use of cryoablation, patient satisfaction, and cost efficiency. Her work has resulted in over 8 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and presentations at professional conferences nationwide. She believes that patients’ needs come first and is willing to go the extra mile to make patients feel comfortable and satisfied.

Dr. Srivastava is an active member of several professional organizations, including SBI.

During her spare time, Dr. Srivastava enjoys spending time with her family, dancing and making desserts.
