Biography

Trenton Bryson, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in obstetric anesthesia and general operating room anesthesia. He also focuses on acute and regional pain management, performing ultrasound-guided nerve blocks for surgical pain relief.

Dr. Bryson earned his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2012.

Dr. Bryson is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Anesthesia Research Society, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, American Medical Informatics Association, Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management. In addition, he is a member of numerous committees in his field, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists electronic media and information technology committee and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists communications committee.

Dr. Bryson’s research focus is health care quality improvement and informatics. He serves as a Deputy Chief Informatics Officer for UT Southwestern, directing technological implementations in the operating room as well as managing departmental quality improvement measures. He has contributed to several books, including the second edition of the Manual of Clinical Anesthesiology, and has delivered presentations and published academic articles.

In 2018, Dr. Bryson earned the Chairman’s Recognition Award from the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern.
