Biography

Vanessa Rogers, M.D., is the Norman F. Gant, Jr., M.D., Chair in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in high-risk pregnancies and infectious diseases in pregnancy.

Dr. Rogers earned her medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. She gained advanced training in maternal-fetal medicine through a fellowship at UT Southwestern.

Certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2006.

Dr. Rogers is the Vice Chair of Education and Faculty Development at UT Southwestern and the former Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. She serves on a wide variety of committees, including the Graduate Medical Education Committee and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program Clinical Competency Committee. Her clinical practice is at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she mentors medical students, residents, and fellows.

In addition, she is an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Rogers's research interests include infectious disease in pregnancy, medical education, and physician wellness. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals related to her areas of interest and is a contributor to several textbooks, including Current Medical Diagnosis and Treatment, Williams Manual of Obstetrics, and the Williams Obstetrics Study Guide. She also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Personal Note

Outside of work, Dr. Rogers enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and watching football.
