Biography
Vivek Prakash, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. His clinical interests include peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, dialysis access, and venous disease.
Dr. Prakash earned his medical degree at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and completed an integrated residency in vascular surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he served as Chief Resident. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Prakash has delivered numerous presentations and published peer-reviewed articles related to his areas of expertise.
Personal Note
Outside of work, Dr. Prakash enjoys spending time with his wife and family, sailing, and traveling.
